I made the Love U Bunches top (found on another site) from a bandana and had little scraps of the bandana left. Created my own tote but used this American Girl headband pattern to finish off the look. I especially appreciated the ease of construction since I was creating a doll wardrobe in triplicate to accompany the three dolls I bought for a toy drive! My daughter's old Samantha enjoyed serving as a model. Thanks for the great pattern!

Instead of putting velcro on it, I decided to make it slightly shorter and put a piece of wide elastic .I like the way it fits that way

This project for my great nieces' 18" American Girl dolls started with this wonderful reversible skirt that I found a link on the website realcoake.com. KC was very helpful when I was having difficulties finding the pattern but once I did, it made up in under 2 hours for the first one. I paired it with an upcycled polo shirt, free pattern from Pixie Faire, the Liberty Jane trendy tank top. The ICING ON THE CAKE was finding the free reversible wide headband pattern and tutorial at mommacandoit.com. I can see these patterns being a basic in the girl's doll clothes to come. Quick and easy to put together. For me, I think the next time I will taper the ends a bit - it seems a little wide and doesn't allow the doll's hair to lay flat in the back.

At a finished 2", the headband is really too wide. I made the band a finished 1 1/2" and it was great.

I probably did something wrong, but it was a little short. Instead of using velcro, I used clips and it worked just fine. My daughter loved it!

What a wonderful project. At first I was skeptical about the amount of fabric need and was surprised to find it was perfect. Boy American Girl Dolls have big heads. The directions were clear and easy to follow.

Have not gotten to finish. Cut it out and had to stop and go see my mother in the nursing home. With Christmas getting so close and doing otherthings with family (church Christmas plays and every thing else) have not been able to get back to sewing. It wll have to be late.

I love the pattern. It is easy to follow, in fact quite simple.I used it to sew some cheer outfits for 18 dolls to match little girls' cheer outfits to look like my great nieces ' girls group wore. I added a bow to look just like theirs and they loved them. It has become a great standard headband pattern now. Love it! Thank you so much for the pattern!
