Made it to go with a gymnastics suit & added just what I wanted.
I made the Love U Bunches top (found on another site) from a bandana and had little scraps of the bandana left. Created my own tote but used this American Girl headband pattern to finish off the look. I especially appreciated the ease of construction since I was creating a doll wardrobe in triplicate to accompany the three dolls I bought for a toy drive! My daughter's old Samantha enjoyed serving as a model. Thanks for the great pattern!
made the doll headband by braiding some t-shirt yarn - very cute and easy for my granddaughter to fit on her AG roll
Excited to try this project.
started it- not finished yet-but so far ,so good

Instead of putting velcro on it, I decided to make it slightly shorter and put a piece of wide elastic .I like the way it fits that way
Easy pattern to make.
Love making these for my granddaughter. Her birthday is coming up soon so I'll make a few more since she has so many dolls. Thank you for sharing.
Fun and easy project
Thank you for providing this pattern.
I made two of these to match the jumpers I made for my granddaughters American Girl Dolls. They were fun and easy to make. Very stylish!
enjoyed making headband . very quick and easy.
Discussing the head band. I like the wider width, I would tend to make it more narrow, but the wider shows off better, especially if matching an outfit.
Made headband to go with outfit.
I am not sure who sent me this email but the things I have order I love them I am working on other things when I get done I will get started on the new one's thank you Norma
No pictures...forgot to take. I did make 22 of them though as a gift for my great niece to match the headbands I made her! She’s going to love them. Shipped them off on Monday!!! Will make more they were addicting to make!
This project for my great nieces' 18" American Girl dolls started with this wonderful reversible skirt that I found a link on the website realcoake.com. KC was very helpful when I was having difficulties finding the pattern but once I did, it made up in under 2 hours for the first one. I paired it with an upcycled polo shirt, free pattern from Pixie Faire, the Liberty Jane trendy tank top. The ICING ON THE CAKE was finding the free reversible wide headband pattern and tutorial at mommacandoit.com. I can see these patterns being a basic in the girl's doll clothes to come. Thank you ladies for you help and posts!
Nice, easy pattern. Thank you.
Quick and easy to put together. For me, I think the next time I will taper the ends a bit - it seems a little wide and doesn't allow the doll's hair to lay flat in the back.
The granddaughters loved it.
My granddaughter loves the headband I made to complete the chevron style dress and shoes outfit.
doll head band looks good
Fun, cute project with young sewers.
At a finished 2", the headband is really too wide. I made the band a finished 1 1/2" and it was great.
This pattern was good as I am teaching my Grand Daughter to sew and she loved it and so did her doll - make more
I probably did something wrong, but it was a little short. Instead of using velcro, I used clips and it worked just fine. My daughter loved it!
What a wonderful project. At first I was skeptical about the amount of fabric need and was surprised to find it was perfect. Boy American Girl Dolls have big heads. The directions were clear and easy to follow.
My Grand Daughter love it for her doll.
I sewed a dress for my granddaughter and wanted a matching outfit for a doll. This little headband finished off the outfit nicely. Very easy pattern and quick to execute. I don't yet have the perfect doll, therefore excuse the look on my homemade one. My cutie is only 21 days old so no model for that dress either! Thank you for the free pattern and keep those coming.
super easy and cute
I made the head band and its perfect, I cannot show you as I havent learnt how to do it yet
Very simple to make.
Have not gotten to finish. Cut it out and had to stop and go see my mother in the nursing home. With Christmas getting so close and doing otherthings with family (church Christmas plays and every thing else) have not been able to get back to sewing. It wll have to be late.
Very clear directions. Turned out well.
I haven't had a chance to make the headband yet, but intend to make several. It looks so easy. Thanks
I love the idea of it being reversible... i did however make it a bit shorter and attach an elastic to each end... also added some ribbon trim!
My 7 year old granddaughter Ava and I sewed this as a set. We made one for her doll and one for her. We had so much fun. Loved that you took the time to share it with us.
My two granddaughters are in love with their 18 inch dolls. It is my delight to sew look alike clothes for them and their dolls. This headband pattern was a great help!
I love the pattern. It is easy to follow, in fact quite simple.I used it to sew some cheer outfits for 18 dolls to match little girls' cheer outfits to look like my great nieces ' girls group wore. I added a bow to look just like theirs and they loved them. It has become a great standard headband pattern now. Love it! Thank you so much for the pattern!
